London

In three words: Bustling, diverse, cheeky.

Three must-see things: Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben), Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus.

Getting around: By far, the easiest way is the London Underground or The Tube. If staying for longer than two days, consider getting an Oyster Card and add money (“top up” as locals say). Another great way to see the city is via the iconic Double Decker buses. Uber is also used here, and you can use taxis as well, although more expensive.

Favorite neighborhoods: South Bank, Camden Town (birth of London's punk scene), Shoreditch (hipsterville), Clerkenwell, Brixton (Caribbean 'hood), Soho (gay neighborhood + theatre), Hyde Park.

How about a museum? Tate Modern, British Museum (first museum to open to the public), National History Museum, National Gallery.

Three must-try foods: Fish and Chips, Indian cuisine anywhere, Shepherd's Pie.

Do people tip here? 10% at restaurants as a bare minimum, but no tipping is necessary at bars. Be sure to check your receipt though — some restaurants automatically add a service charge of 12-15%.

Least favorite thing: London's a little bit expensive.

Safe to walk at night scale — 1 = riskiest to 5 = safest: 4.5.

Caution: Londoners drive on the left, so look right, left and then right before crossing streets. Be wary of pickpockets and scams in major tourist areas.
